Balto and Toby
Meet new kids on the block Balto and Toby (2 years and 10 months respectively)
While these two are a Rottweiler and Doberman they have been classified as Black Lab's - they love everyone and will play with anything!
Their wonderful nature's are a result of puppy socialization, classes and advanced training and were way ahead of their class!
Super Intelligent with zero fears and phobias these two are a great German Combination !
They are excellent with kids and currently live with a toddler.
They play all day together and are the best of friends - we can no separate them!
Please note: cats are unknown and really a complex situation which has rarely if ever worked out for us. We can only rehome them to loving family homes who either have no other dogs or a large breed female.
Complex situations with various other dogs especially small breeds will require extensive work and commitment as well as the appointment of a behaviorist which will be for the account of the new home.
Bella and Diego
Bella is an 11 yr old Female and Diego is a 7 year old Male. They are both child friendly however they do not get on with cats or other dogs. They love a good scratch and like to be by their humans side.
These two have been together for such a long time we cannot seperate them. If you can provide this pair a loving home please get in contact at firstname.lastname@example.org as we urgently need to place them somewhere suitable
Boetie 1 Year Old Male - JHB ❤️
He’s tall dark and handsome and just turned one. Boetie was a guard dog at a scrapyard (insert loud eye roll).
He has never known love but shown GREAT PROGRESS!
He is not a form of security, a solution to crime or a guard dog.
What he is:-
A powerful dog who has the ability to learn. He has already learnt so much.
A dog with potential
A dog who needs an experienced owner
A wonderful inside sleeper who needs a soft hand but firm boundaries.
A dog who needs a home with no other dogs or a large breed social female. No small dogs or cats!
A neutered male courtesy of Craig View Veterinary Clinic
*. We have MANY incredible males available, if Boetie isn’t the dog for you we may suggest one of our MANY other hunks!
**. Males available in CPT & DBN!
Boetie can not be flown!

He’s come along way since being rescued from a township near Plettenberg Bay.
Caesar has been with us for a week and half and flourishing beautifully!
We hope to assess him soon (giving him time to settle) and thank PAWS - Plett Animal Welfare Service (Plettenberg Bay, SA) for their great efforts, Heather 🙏🏻 and CemAir (Pty) Ltd. for flying him to Jo’burg free of charge.
Please stay tuned to the page as his adoption criteria will be posted in the near future.
OUR JOURNEY WITH JESSIE 😰
Jessie was adopted by her second home where she lived in a wonderful family home. She sadly had to be rehomed when her owner had to relocate due to the Plett / Knysna / George fires.
Jessie was flown to us in Johannesburg where she disliked kennels immensely but was thankfully rehomed but then returned when her new people chose to immigrate.
Jessie came back to kennels where she really wasn’t happy but then adopted and again very happy for the last 8 months.
Sadly the latest home can not keep her as they travel a lot.
Jessie was returned yet again to kennels.
Jessie began excreting a concerning amount of blood yesterday at our kennels and was rushed to Craig View Veterinary Clinic where she is being treated for HGE and had to be placed on a drip.
Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis (HGE) is an acute disorder of dogs characterized by vomiting and bloody diarrhea. ... "Stress, anxiety, and hyperactivity are thought to be possible contributing factors in many cases of canine HGE.
The reality is Jessie doesn’t want to be in kennels but as a dog who has not accepted other dogs (we have tried ALOT) it is extremely difficult to rehome her.
I’m hoping and mostly praying that there is someone out there who can either offer Jessie a foster home or a forever home who doesn’t have other pets.
She really is the jealous type who doesn’t want to share her people.
Jessie is low maintenance, will not require loads of work - just some good loving and attention.
We are prepared to provide food to any foster home and cover all medical expenses.
She loves to swim which she does beautifully with such ease.
And whilst the keyboard warriors will panic and criticise us, if no home is found we will have the consider euthanasia because watching a dog bleed from stress is inhumane and cruel.
Please - we don’t ask for an emotional adoption - adoption is a serious ask and one that must be considered carefully but we do ask for maximum shares because we believe Jessie’s home is out there and this could save her life.
Kennels are not a home - nor is it fair to keep letting this girl down.
ONCE IN AWHILE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF LIFE FOR AN ORDINARY DOG, LOVE GIVES US A FAIRY TALE.
Diesel won’t get many likes or shares, comments or applicants. He doesn’t have a big head, he isn’t the largest male we have and for many he seems ordinary.
How wrong anyone will be for assuming this.
Diesel is an ambassador to the Rottweiler breed. Not only has he progressed rapidly in obedience training but he has always been well mannered and kind.
If you follow our posts you will know that not all dogs are kind, however Diesel is very kind.
He is gentle and loving, soft and sweet. Diesel is clever and loves to learn.
Diesel is social and with correct introductions can be placed in a home with other dogs. Diesel is not cat friendly.
Diesel is a wonderful dog. Please hit share - it’s free! And could help a dog find a home!
Meet Holly, she is a 4 year old Female who is desperately looking for a new home. She is well suited to home with older children as she can be a bit clumsy with the small kids. She is good with other dogs but tends to chase the neighbours cats.
She is very lovable and calm and just wants to be loved.
If you can give this stunner of a girl another chance please email us at email@example.com and quote: Holly
Jess and Leeu
PERFECT PAIR JHB - CAT FRIENDLY 😻
In the 5 years that I have been involved with rescuing Rottweilers I have met many Black and Tan kids....
I admire them all and often lose my heart to some. But today I think I discovered my favorite.
As Rottweiler families we generally get a puppy or a rescue who needs to learn. Slowly they learn they way, chewing everything in their path, digging, destroying, jumping, scratching.
As the years go on there is such a fine line between “they will settle / learn / adjust and settle down soon” and within a blink of an eye those wonderful years are gone and we seem to have a few perfect years and then sadly we lose our dogs to the rainbow bridge.
Jess and Leeu are at the perfect, perfect age!
7 years old, 1 x loving male and 1 x pretty female.
I can’t speak enough about this pair! They are calm, settled, placid, loving, affectionate yet still playful - please don’t read into this as old - these dogs are still energetic and have a zest but they are SETTLED.
They lived with a cat - so yes cat friendly and have interacted well with other dogs in the park.
Whoever can adopt who meets this pair will lose their hearts - what gems!
Wonderful, wonderful pair.
Strict home checks will apply - these dogs have lived for 7 years as inside sleepers, house trained in a loving home and their next home will be the same or better.
Cuddle ability 11 out of 10.

REX, MALE, 18 MONTH OLD ROTTWEILER PRETORIA
Rex is 18 months young and a wonderful dog.
He likes his human so much he that he prefers if they don’t talk on the phone and paws them off from it.
He adores water, loves car rides.
Would be fine with medium to large breed female dog.
Johannesburg- Rufus from Nelspruit.
We were asked by Pro-Life Pet Rescue, Rehabilitation and Adoption Agency to take this special boy in and they went to such efforts to get him to us!
Rufus comes from a life of abuse - as someone who loves and knows the breed I am always ashamed that humans can turn a confident, bold and brave breed into a fearful and scared case that is clearly broken.
At 18 months of age a kind lady took him to safety after his owner wanted to shoot him.
So welcome Rufus - we as Friends of the Rottweiler are here to focus on RESCUE cases like you and we have always believed dogs like you should be our FOCUS.
So let us begin....
It starts with TREATS, gentle voices, prayers, loads of love - TLC (we have the T and C just looking for the L....😜)
Welcome to the first day of your new life!
Thank you ProLife for being so wonderful of you are in MPG please support this hard working shelter ❤️
Ps. Rufus is already munching on his Jock Dog Food from our Mandela day donation.
He approves VERY MUCH!
If you can offer this boy a home please email email@example.com

GRAB THE CHAMPAGNE 🍾
Grab the champagne, crack open a beer - better yet pop open a coke!
Whatever you like to drink, fill up a glass it’s time to celebrate - raise your glass to Xena!
Today we perform one of the most important type of rescues - collecting a guard dog.
AT 8 YEARS OLD XENA’s LIFE BEGINS
We were called last week by DISCHEM to collect Xena - an 8 year old Rottweiler who has been used for guarding.
Xena is now retired. XENA’s life officially begins now!
THE GOOD NEWS
DISCHEM will no longer be keeping guard dogs as a form of security. 🙏🏻
DISCHEM - we thank you for not keeping guard / working dogs. Please get extra guards, bigger guards, ones with mega super duper guns, tazers, smoke thingies and explosive stuff if you have to.
GUARD DOGS AND WORKING DOGS are generally kept in poor living conditions, never know love and live in small cages.
So here’s to Xena ❤️💗❤️ and thank you DISCHEM !
Johannesburg meet this stunning young lady!

She adores tummy scratches and lives with a little dog! So she is small dog friendly.

Zia has so much potential and would be a real asset to any loving family.
